The Pracademic Mentor is based in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. All consultations are conducted online via video call, making services accessible to students and researchers across South Africa and internationally.

Ms. Aboo holds a PhD (Candidate) and MEd from the University of Pretoria, BEd Honours (Teacher Education & Professional Development), BEd FET General, and a TEFL Certificate (Distinction). She is a SACE Registered University Lecturer, Certified Copy Editor & Proofreader, and holds certifications in APA, MLA, Harvard, and Chicago writing styles. She is also an ORCID-registered researcher (0000-0002-3863-0951) with publications listed on Google Scholar.

Proofreading is a final-stage check that corrects grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic language errors. It assumes the document is otherwise complete and structurally sound. Copy editing is more comprehensive — it addresses structure, flow, argument clarity, academic tone, consistency, and formatting in addition to language errors. For most dissertations, copy editing is recommended before proofreading.

Yes. Mentoring and editorial services cover all dissertation chapters — introduction, literature review, methodology, data presentation, discussion, and conclusion — as well as the abstract, reference list, and appendices.

No. The Pracademic Mentor upholds academic integrity absolutely. Services focus on mentoring, guidance, editing, and feedback — empowering you to produce your own original work. Writing or ghostwriting services that could constitute academic dishonesty are not offered.

The complete mentoring journey consists of four steps: (1) a 1-hour initial consultation to discuss your concerns, goals, and expectations; (2) initial proofreading with detailed review; (3) a 2-hour mentoring session covering academic writing, research writing, and supervisor feedback; and (4) final proofreading plus constructive written feedback. After submitting your booking request, you will receive a confirmation email with an invoice for the deposit (50% of the agreed fee). Once payment is confirmed, your session is scheduled and you will receive a calendar invite with the video call link. Documents should be submitted 24 hours before the session.

All individual consultations and mentoring sessions are conducted online via video call (Google Meet or Zoom), making them accessible regardless of your location. Workshop facilitation can be arranged in person for institutions in the Gauteng area — please enquire for group bookings.

Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled session will receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations within 24–48 hours will receive a 50% refund. No-shows and same-day cancellations are non-refundable. Rescheduling is accommodated where possible with 24 hours' notice.

Proofreading is charged at R0.50 per word. For example, a 10,000-word chapter would cost R5,000. The word count is based on the final submitted document. A formal quote is provided before work commences.
